Undergraduate Program

Minor in Health Education

Teacher Certification Track


Introduction:

There are two options for a health minor. Students may pursue the secondary health minor which, when combined with a College of Education secondary teaching major, leads to a secondary teaching certificate in health education. They may also pursue the elementary health minor which, when combined with a College of Education teaching major in elementary education, leads to K-6 teaching certification in health education.

Admission:

Physical education majors should see a physical education advisor prior to application. All other majors should contact a health education advisor for a Plan of Work.

Curriculum:

A minimum of 24 semester hours in designated courses are required. Consult with a health education advisor regarding specific courses.

Certification:

Successful completion of the secondary minor results in certification in health education grades 7 - 12. Successful completion of the elementary minor results in certification in health education grades K-6.
