Linda Jiménez is the President/CEO and founder of VIDA Enterprise, Inc., a
certified minority-owned, consulting company. VIDA is committed to providing business
development and project
management to providers of urban public health programs. Our mission is to
advance the health science sector by integrating Value Add Value Engineered
(VAVE) business solutions. Linda serves as the chief prototype manager and
designer of a pioneering medical device.
Linda has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise
Science specializing in Sport Medicine and a Master of Education in
Kinesiology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She is
an adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University in the Department of
Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies. She has facilitated creative
partnerships between community-based organizations and the University to
secure federal funding for physical activity and nutrition intervention
programs in Detroit Public Schools. Linda also serves as a federal grant
reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education.
Linda has founded two
501(c)(3) organizations. She was the founding executive director of
After-School All-Stars Detroit - The Arnold Schwarzenegger Youth Foundation
which she sought from,
at that time, Chairman Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger is now honorary chairman. Linda has hosted
Governor Schwarzenegger in Detroit twice and utilized his visits to
fundraise over $3 million for after-school programs. Prior to this, Linda
was the founding executive director of Get Active Detroit which was a state
initiative to promote physical activity.
In 2003, Michigan’s
Governor, Jennifer Granholm, appointed Linda as a board member of the
Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports. She is the first
Hispanic board member. Linda is an active community advocate for public
health and physical activity. Her civic involvements include board
memberships of the
Michigan Fitness Foundation
and
Alternative For Girls
Detroit. She is also on the St. Francis Cabrini School Advisory
Commission.
Linda and her husband,
Salvador, have established The Jiménez Family Annual Scholarship at Wayne
State University for Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies students. Linda
has two children which she enjoys coaching in soccer and softball.
It is Linda's genuine
desire to share her extensive experience in
entrepreneurship, fundraising, grant writing, and public health
administration to enhance strategic alliances and partnerships.
