Linda Jiménez is the President/CEO and founder of VIDA Enterprise, Inc., a certified minority-owned, consulting company. VIDA serves as an executive management team member to assist with strategic planning, diversity initiatives and business development.
She is an adjunct faculty member at Wayne State University in the Department of Kinesiology, Health and Sport Studies. She has facilitated creative partnerships between community-based organizations and the University to secure federal funding for physical activity and nutrition intervention programs in Detroit Public Schools. Linda served as a federal grant reviewer for the U.S. Department of Education.
Linda has a strong background
in
startups, fundraising, grant writing and entrepreneurship, particularly with women- and minority-owned companies. She founded two 501(c)(3) organizations. She was the founding executive director of Detroit After-School All-Stars-The Arnold Schwarzenegger Youth Foundation which she sought from, at that time, Chairman Arnold Schwarzenegger. Linda hosted now-Governor Schwarzenegger in Detroit twice and utilized his visits to fundraise over $3 million for after-school programs. Prior to this, Linda was the founding executive director of Get Active Detroit which was a state initiative to promote physical activity.
Currently, Linda serves as a Board of Trustee for Henry Ford Health System and Vice Chair for Michigan Minority Business Development Corporation Healthcare Sector. In 2003, Governor Jennifer Granholm appointed Linda as the first Hispanic board member of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports. Her other civic involvements include Vice Chair of the Michigan Fitness Foundation and Cabrini School Advisory Commission. Linda and her husband, Salvador, have established The Jiménez Family Annual Scholarship at Wayne State University for Kinesiology students.
Linda has a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science specializing in Sport Medicine and a Master of Education in Kinesiology from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. She is fluent in Spanish.
