DIRECTIONS
TO THE MATTHAEI BUILDING

The Frederick C. Matthaei Building
(Physical Education Center) is located on the northwest corner
of the Lodge Freeway and Warren Avenue. There is parking
along the two-way service drive, or a student parking lot south
of the building is also available. To enter the parking
lot (Warren entrance, west of the Lodge), visitors will need two
one-dollar bills to feed the machine. The parking arm will raise
and permit entrance into this lot. Students may use their OneCard;
cost is a $2.25-per-park debit from current OneCards. Visitor
parking is $3.25.
Southbound Lodge: Exit the Lodge at the Forest/Warren exit.
Immediately before the Forest intersection, make a left over
the top of the freeway, and another left on the opposite service
drive so that you're going north (towards the Fisher Building).
The first light you come to (at Warren), turn left (west).
Cross over the freeway again; Matthaei is on your right.
Northbound Lodge: Exit the Lodge at the Warren exit. At
the light, (Warren), turn left (west) as above.
From the East Side (on Westbound
Ford): Exit at the John
R/Woodward Avenue exit. The first light is John R.; cross
the intersection. Woodward Avenue is next; make a left
(south). Continue until you pass Detroit's Cultural Center.
The Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) will be on your left (east);
the Detroit Public Library will be on your right (west).
Cross Putnam (School Center Building); continue to Warren.
Make a right (west) and go past Cass Avenue, Gullen Mall (pedestrian
walkway), Anthony Wayne Drive, and the first Lodge Service Drive
(northbound only). Cross over the Lodge Freeway.
Matthaei is on the northwest corner of Lodge and Warren.
From the West Side (on Eastbound
Ford): Exit at Trumbull
Avenue, (Exit #214B). At the light, the football stadium
is directly in front of you. Cross Trumbull and follow
the Ford Service Drive, which curves into the Lodge Service Drive.
The football field, baseball field, and tennis courts are on
your right; Matthaei is directly south of the tennis courts.
From the East (on Westbound Jeffries), from the Ambassador Bridge: Take
Westbound I-94/I-96 to the I-94 interchange; take I-94 East.
Exit at Trumbull Avenue, (Exit #214B). At the light, the
football stadium is directly in front of you. Cross Trumbull
and follow the Ford Service Drive, which curves into the Lodge
Service Drive. The football field, baseball field, and
tennis courts are on your right; Matthaei is directly south of
the tennis courts.

From the West (on Eastbound Jeffries):
Exit the Jeffries on the Ford
Interchange; go left to Eastbound Ford. Within a mile or
so, the Trumbull Exit will appear, (Exit #214B). Follow
directions from I-94 Eastbound.
